Dayle D'Ann, Sonny King and Laurie Brady.
Sonny King at II Jacks entertaining for the annual golf outing. Tom Dreesen stopped and did a tribute to Sonny. (WHAT a treat to be with those "bad" old boys (and when they're bad, they're BETTER!)! Treated Laurie and I as thought it were 40 years ago. Compliments and nonstop liquor! BUT, we were good girls and I drove us home.) Finally know why I didn't meet Laurie Brady in my Gaslight years. She was in litigation with Burton and while I was the fresh singing sensation in'65 in the Gaslight/Playboy/Rush Street/Redhead Show Lounge scene. That's a story I have to write one day. Wild and scary and FABULOUS times! (Find me a Fritzel's, PLEASE???) Heard about her from the men about town but we never met till the "luncheon days" in the late '60''s and 70's. I remember running into her at Myron and Phil's back in the '70's. Old Harry Bagdassian. had dubbed her the "cunning stunt". Astrologer to one of the Reagan's and pretty good at it. I encouraged her mightily to do her memoirs. That''s a book I'd buy!!!
Sonny kept me out of a major (to me) gig at Raphael's in the '80's. Pushed me back into the design game. Certainly was a kick when I ran into him at Debbie Reynold's hotel on her 65th Bday. C.W. Moody put on a 4 hour extravaganza in which I sang. Sonny shares the same April Fool's Bday and was in the front row.
Now it's all past and the old codgers don't remember, other than a pretty face.
Anyone reading this and remembering some of those faces and days, email?
